The Senior Developer, Business Applications serves as a critical technical contributor within Telamon's Information Technology department, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support our Oracle EBS and Mobile Warehouse platforms. This position plays a vital role in driving technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and deliver measurable value to our customers and internal stakeholders through full software development lifecycle management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs comprehensive software solutions by collaborating with business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications that align with enterprise architecture standards
- Develops high-quality code using multiple programming languages and frameworks to build scalable applications that support business operations and customer needs
- Executes comprehensive testing protocols including unit, integration, and system testing to ensure software reliability and performance standards are met
- Delivers training sessions and documentation to end-users and technical teams to facilitate smooth software adoption and knowledge transfer
- Manages deployment activities and coordinates with infrastructure teams to ensure successful production releases with minimal business disruption
- Provides ongoing post-implementation support by troubleshooting issues, implementing enhancements, and maintaining system performance
- Meets established project deadlines and deliverables while maintaining code quality standards and following established development methodologies
- Participates in code reviews and technical design sessions to promote best practices and knowledge sharing across the development team
- Leads technical discussions with cross-functional teams to build alignment, manage expectations, and advocate or solutions that balance business value, usability, and long-term sustainability
Managerial Responsibility
- This position does not have direct reports.
Travel/Shift Requirements
- Standard business hours with flexibility for after-hours deployment activities and system maintenance windows as needed to support business operations.
Physical Demands
Primarily sedentary office work requiring prolonged sitting at computer workstations.Â
Occasional lifting of equipment up to 10 pounds may be required for hardware setup or relocation activities.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, and SQL
- Strong understanding of database design principles and experience with Oracle database platforms
- Experience with enterprise application development frameworks and web technologies
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies including Agile and Waterfall approaches
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
- Experience with version control systems and continuous integration practices
- Understanding of system integration principles and API development
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work flexible hours to meet project deadlines
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- 5-10 years of progressive software development experience in enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle certification in relevant technologies
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle EBS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in telecommunications or similar industry
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
