As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. You will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care, teaching, and research activities. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible. Â
A caregiver in this position works full time, 8 hour shifts between 6am-11:30pm Monday - Friday with rotating every other weekend. There is potential to float to Mentor Hospital.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â Â
Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.  Â
Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. Â
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.  Â
Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.  Â
Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.  Â
Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â Â
High School Diploma/GEDÂ Â Â
Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:
Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).Â
    It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy

Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.
