We were founded in 2018 by Dr. David Bartels, focusing on cancer and blood conditions. Today, we provide care services to Medical Oncology and Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Rheumatology, and Urology patients. Duties/Responsibilities:
Verify patients' insurance information, including policy numbers and coverage details, collected during the intake process.
​Ensure accurate entry of patient insurance details into the Practice Management System (PMS).Â
Address any discrepancies in insurance information with patients and resolve issues as they arise.Â
Communicate with patients regarding necessary documentation and answer questions related to insurance coverage and benefits.Â
Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals as required by insurance companies.Â
Monitor and manage insurance authorizations and re-authorization processes to avoid delays in patient care.Â
Collaborate with LabCorp to ensure patient insurance is accurate, and all provider correspondence is sent in a timely manner.Â
Maintain detailed records of all interactions with patients and claims status in the billing systemÂ
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and changes in the industry.Â
Support the billing department with the timely submission of claims and follow-up on pending referrals or missing referring providers.Â
Required Skills/Abilities:
Compassionate and caring bedside manners.Â
Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.Â
Strong written and verbal communication.Â
Previous experience in insurance verification, patient intake, or a similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred.Â
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.Â
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Â
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.Â
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and insurance verification software.Â
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Â
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.Â
