Webb Wheel Products, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. You will play a critical role in supporting financial operations across multiple projects. You’ll help ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time while maintaining clean and compliant accounting records.

This position operates out of Cullman, AL.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, ensuring accurate records of financial transactions, and maintaining strong communication with clients to ensure timely payments. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for Fixed Asset management and Tax.

Essential Functions

  • Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure proper documentation
  • Conduct thorough review of vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to obtain necessary approvals for payments
  • Assist with implementing and adapting to new systems, including Docuware
  • Contribute to improving processes and workflows within the accounts payable department
  • Assist with internal audits related to vendor compliance, purchase cards, and time and expense reporting
  • Manage the purchase card program
  • Review daily banking activity and apply cash receipts to open items in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare and own balance sheet reconciliations; resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain fixed asset records
  • Create and post journal entries including accruals, allocations, and adjustments
  • Support and lead month-end and year-end close activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Familiarity with accounting software and systems
  • Ability to comply with deadlines
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Interest in technology and process improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors & internal teams
