This is for Inpatient
4am-12:30pm Monday-Friday
- Is proficient at 98% of venipunctue attempts. Assures that specimen collected is
- appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood)
- Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times.
- Understands consequence of deviation from protocol.
- Takes a leadership role in orientation and training of new Associates and students.
- Demonstrates consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants and children as well as adults.
- Performs all collections in timely manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment , ie syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- To be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or have a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital
- To have excellent customer service skills. To have excellent organizational skills
