JOB SUMMARY

Manages the district’s central distribution warehouse inventory control operations, ensuring accurate tracking, accountability, and reporting of materials, supplies, equipment, and other district assets. Oversees the use and maintenance of inventory and asset management systems to monitor stock levels, record transactions, and maintain data integrity. Develops and implements standardized inventory control procedures, including receiving, cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, and documentation, ensuring compliance with district policies and applicable state and federal requirements.

Collaborates with Purchasing Services and Warehouse Operations, and district departments to support accurate inventory planning, asset accountability, and efficient distribution of materials to campuses and departments. Analyzes inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiency. Provides leadership and training to inventory staff while promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, safety, and customer service in support of districtwide operational and instructional needs.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.        Manages and oversees warehouse inventory control operations, ensuring accurate tracking, accountability, and reporting of all materials, supplies, equipment, and district assets.
2.        Develops, implements, and maintains standardized inventory control procedures, including receiving verification, cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation, and documentation.
3.        Oversees and maintains the district’s warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate entry, tracking, and reporting of inventory transactions and asset records.
4.        Monitors inventory levels and usage patterns to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and supports operational and instructional needs across district campuses and departments.
5.        Investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and accountability.
6.        Collaborates with Purchasing Services and Warehouse Operations, and other district departments to ensure proper inventory tracking, asset accountability, and compliance with district policies and applicable state and federal requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED

7.        Conducts regular audits and physical inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards.
8.        Prepares and maintains inventory reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and informed operational decision-making.
9.        Provides supervision, training, and guidance to inventory control staff, promoting adherence to procedures, accuracy, safety, and customer service standards.
10.        Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
