- Key Accountabilities
Health & Safety
- Ensure CLV US facilities and offices remain safe places to work, by overseeing the safety policies, procedures, training and companywide communication strategies that promote and reinforce a strong culture of safety.Â
- Establish and oversee periodic management reviews and health and safety audits and to ensure that the accommodation and services offered to our customers are safe and meet required standards.
- Periodically review the health and safety procedures and related controls to ensure risks are appropriately managed by staff, and that regulatory requirements are incorporated in the procedures. Conduct periodic audits to assess compliance with procedures and key controls.
- Ensure that the CLV US Village Recovery and Emergency Response Plans, and supporting procedures and training, are maintained and regularly reviewed by village management, and that staff remain informed of changes to responsibilities, legislation and obligations.
- Working with Legal and relevant business subject matter experts, ensure all applicable federal and state health safety and environment compliance obligations are identified, understood and met across CLV US operation including OSHA, EPA, State Fire Codes, ADA, and environmental regulations (e.g., asbestos, mold, and hazardous materials). Ensure these obligations are reflected in the Protecht compliance framework, with controls and compliance attestations in place to monitor adherence.
- Provide technical advice, support and guidance for all operational Health and Safety issues, and support managers through coaching and development.
- Lead US Regional Health and Safety meetings and oversee the monitoring and monthly reporting of safety compliance across the CLV US operations. Incident Management
- Ensure reporting and monitoring structures are in place to identify accidents, incidents, behaviour and activities, which may be detrimental to CLV and its reputation and promptly instigate corrective plans.
- Lead investigation of incidents, determining the appropriate incident level, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with HR, Group Risk, Legal, and insurance providers as required.
- Ensure relevant staff are trained and suitable proficient in incident reporting and the use of the Protecht platform.
- Ensure timely escalation of incidents in accordance with established communication and escalation protocols.
Facilities ManagementÂ
- Oversee the monitoring and auditing of planned preventative maintenance plans to ensure statutory compliance of Villages.
- Ensure contractors and third-party vendors comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.Â
- Archive Certificates of Insurance, Service Work Authorization (SWAs) forms, and Scopes of Work timely.
- Ensure statutory inspections, life safety system testing, and preventive maintenance programs are executed and documented across all properties.

- Experience and Qualifications Required
Experience
- Minimum three years’ professional experience in a corporate and operating environment, including actual experience of implementing Health and safety programs.Â
- Experience of liaising with all levels of an organization.
Technical
- High level of competency in a range of Microsoft software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
- Proven high quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet tight timeframes without compromising accuracy.
- Proven decision-making ability in a commercial environment.Â
- Experience managing systems for Incident Reporting, Risk Management, and Auditing.
