This role focuses on maximizing production, minimizing operating costs, maintaining asset integrity, and ensuring safe, compliant field operations across a mature, multizone asset base. This position requires strong technical expertise in production surveillance, artificial lift system design and optimization, workover/well interventions, as well as strong collaboration with field operations, subsurface, land, and regulatory teams.
Responsibilities
Drive daily production optimization and downtime reduction across a portfolio of conventional Central Basin Platform wells, including waterflood EOR projects, through close collaboration with field operations providing technical support and leadership in the field
Perform production surveillance, decline curve analysis, and forecasting to identify underperforming wells, quantify production uplift opportunities, and support capital allocation and long-range planning
Analyze production chemistry, corrosion, scale, and failure trends; manage vendor relationships and optimize chemical treatment programs to mitigate integrity risks and reduce failure frequency and operating costs
Design, select, and optimize artificial lift systems (rod pump, ESP, gas lift, plunger lift), including equipment sizing, failure analysis, operating envelope definition, and life-cycle cost optimization
Plan, justify, and execute well intervention programs for producers and injectors, including economic screening, AFE development, procedure creation, and field execution support
Create economic evaluations and business case development for production enhancement, reliability improvements, and LOE reduction while tracking results against forecast and communicating value delivered
Lead implementation of cash-flow-focused optimization initiatives, including operating parameter changes, debottlenecking, artificial lift optimization, and cost structure improvements
Develop and manage production and intervention budgets, track AFE spend, and ensure alignment with corporate capital and operating plans
Collaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary teams to evaluate development opportunities, support reserves, and execute value-accretive projects
Ensure full compliance with HSE, regulatory, and company standards, promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to operating procedures
