About the Role:
DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, effectively perform testing to determine the chemical, physical, mechanical and functional properties of raw and/or finished materials for quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inspect and measure finished and semi-finished belts before customer delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues from previous fabrication steps.
- Read and interpret drawings and special measurements; proficiency with a metric ruler/caliper required.
- Determine optimal belt sequence sizes and assemble shorter sequences into shipping lengths.
- Follow and record special customer instructions (e.g., labeling, wrapping, measurements).
- Maintain accurate records of tests and inspections, both physical and digital.
- Provide real-time feedback to Fabrication and Quality Managers on Quality Control results.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance; weekends as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to meet company goals.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance productivity and quality.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires, but is not limited to the following demands/factors:
Physical
- Regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing and/or sitting with occasional walking
- Occasional writing in English and use of computer
- Occasional reaching, bending, squatting, and stretching
- Speak clearly and distinctly in English to verbally communicate with others
- Hear clearly in order to understand verbal communications from others
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to be able to record various data and to identify material flaws - Color vision to be able to see differences in dye lots
- Manual dexterity for fine manipulation in isolating and removing individual fivers within belting material and to operate a computer keyboard for data entry
Environmental
- Possible exposure to laboratory chemicals
- Temperature range of 60 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Humidity level between 45 - 70 %
- Protective clothing/devices: Cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, rubber gloves, safety shoes - steel toe and antistatic
Frequently Used Tools: Mallet, measuring devices (tape/ruler, calipers, hole gauges)

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in quality control, materials science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in materials testing, visual inspection, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and calibration techniques.
- Basic understanding of product specifications and quality standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when required.
