Physician - Nocturnist

Bell Hospital, Medical Pavilion

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Nocturnist who will join the team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center.

The position offers a dynamic opportunity to deliver comprehensive care on the inpatient service nocturnist team.  Patient care is provided in shift scheduling, shared equally among members of the group. The role also includes participation in call duties, aligning with established practices for hospitalist services. There will be limited interaction with house staff in a supervisory and triage role. As an academic medical center and health system, we offer full sub-specialty support with closed ICU at the main campus.

Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on scholarly pursuits, including collaborative education and research activities with students and fellows. For those inclined, independent research initiatives are encouraged.

Required Qualifications:  

  • MD/DO or equivalent

  • Board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine

  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas
