Heavy Equipment Operator

Excavator Operator | 2nd Shift

Pay: $23–$27 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | 6:00 PM–5:00 AM
Location: North Kansas City, MO

We are hiring an experienced Excavator Operator for a fast-paced heavy industrial recycling facility. This position is responsible for safely operating an excavator to support wire shredding, material sorting, and production operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of excavator operating experience required
• Previous excavator experience is a must
• Experience operating a skid steer or forklift does not replace required excavator experience
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
• Ability to identify and sort ferrous and non-ferrous materials preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate an excavator to feed wire shredding equipment
• Sort and identify ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Meet production and quality goals
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and clean-outs
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This is a heavy industrial environment with indoor/outdoor work, noise, and dust.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, twisting, and overhead work
• Must wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
