Physician- Interventional Pulmonologist

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonology and Critical Care, is seeking an experienced Interventional Pulmonologist to join our team at a prestigious tertiary care teaching hospital with over 136 ICU beds.

Join a collaborative team of 40 pulmonologists and help drive the continued expansion of our pulmonology program across the Kansas City metro. Academic appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Interventional Pulmonology program overview:

  • The health system launched its interventional pulmonology service in 2018, and the team of 3 physicians is now the largest and most advanced in the area.
  • This position offers a 100% interventional pulmonology practice with the opportunity to be involved in the medical ICU if interested.
  • The team performs a high volume of bronchoscopic and pleural procedures, averaging 100-150 rigid/ therapeutic and more than 600 robotic bronchoscopy cases annually, in addition to a very active inpatient tracheostomy service – serving the region’s only NCIdesignated comprehensive cancer center.
  • Active participation in the procedural education of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellows.
  • Actively engaged in multiple ongoing clinical trials, including both industry and investigator-initiated trials.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD, DO or equivalent
  • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency
  • Completion of a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship with board certification/eligibility
  • Completion of an Interventional Pulmonology fellowship
  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
