Job Summary and Responsibilities

Provides support for technical services in the laboratory performing procedures in one or more area of the laboratory including specimen collection and handling, clerical functions and technical duties under supervision of licensed staff. Provides assistance for related tasks including stocking of supplies, cleaning of equipment, record handling and storage and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
  • High School or equivalent level of education required.
  • Course work in college biology, chemistry or related studies preferred.
  • AA or BS (A) preferred.
  • Completion of a State of California approved phlebotomy certification program. 
  • Certified as a phlebotomist by the State of California.
