Job Description

The Occupational Therapist position is responsible for the direct implementation and collaboration of the assigned patients and will work closely with the behavior analyst to ensure that each patient in the agency receives quality therapeutic care.

This role will be a Full-Time position supporting clients on-site at our McKinney facility.

  • Perform clinical assessment; identify patient needs and appropriateness of patient.
  • Document, prepare/revises, and complete a Plan of Care, progress notes, and other clinical record documentation on an ongoing basis.
  • Assess and facilitate the patient’s ROM, strength, coordination, need for and use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to the patient’s ADL performance needs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Implement, monitor, collect and evaluate data.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of the treatment
  • Effective demonstration of the implementation of therapy
  • Demonstration of professional behavior
  • Competence with Crisis Intervention
  • Facilitate effective training with parents and staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Current State License as an Occupational Therapist
  • Two years of direct service work in a treatment setting for patients preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with autism preferred.
