This position is based in Milwaukee, WI. Hybrid environment 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
How will you make an impact?
As a senior accountant, you will be a part of the Reinsurance team that is responsible for monitoring, managing, and reporting on our reinsurance agreements, as well as providing analytical information to Finance leaders to aid in their decision-making processes.Â
This is accomplished by:
Being responsible for all processes related to the cession and assumption of premium and/or losses in compliance with MGIC’s reinsurance programs
Generating monthly and quarterly reports for analysis of reinsurance premiums, losses, and exposure, etc. for use by management and reinsurers
Obtaining an understanding of the reinsurance system. Providing assistance as needed on any enhancements or upgrades to the reinsurance system
Obtain an understanding of MGIC’s reinsurance function and its relation to other departments as well as understanding our reinsurance programs
Performing monthly analysis and reconciliation of designated general ledger accounts. Analyzing and researching variances as well as providing logical/concise explanations for variances and/or fluctuations in a timely manner
Working with internal and external auditors by preparing replies to inquiries
Ensuring accurate reinsurance and accounting control procedures are maintained
Do you have what it takes?
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Accounting or Finance degree a plus
CPA license a plus
Experience:Â More than 5 years relevant experience in accounting, analytical analysis

First year: Become a Subject Matter Expert in your assigned job duties

$87,990.00 - $149,590.00Â
This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation. Salary offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and training. The range may vary in certain locations to reflect local market conditions. It is not typical to initiate pay at the top of the range to account for internal equity and allow for future and continued salary growth
