This individual should have experience which focuses on client development and delivery of data center projects.聽They should have a proven background in successfully delivering various data center and mission critical projects ranging from upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support and commissioning. In addition to managing and delivering projects (which is the primary focus of this role), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand upon HDR鈥檚 reputation within these markets.聽They will manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion. They will also work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers as well as our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.

Mentoring/Managing:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Helping to grow a team that works together to create a collaborative environment that promotes career growth, the production of high-quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and acts as a safety net for each other.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinating the work of multidiscipline design teams.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mentoring, organizing, and facilitating the growth of staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinating workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mission Critical staff recruiting and retention.

Marketing:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Establishing client relations, and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assisting Marketing and Business Development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Promoting HDR through regular client interface.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborating on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.

Technical:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensuring product deliverables meet quality standards.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Managing and leading project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Controlling project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Creating vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assisting HDR in interview and interview preparation/presentations.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Working cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors and marketing managers.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performing other duties as needed.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Traveling to job sites or other HDR offices could be required. This would be communicated in advance to give adequate coordination time with project work and personal life.聽

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning
  • Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience an architectural/engineering, or engineering consulting firm is desired
  • Strong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Working knowledge of the following standards: Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and the ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
  • Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strongly motivated with demonstrated professional initiative
  • Focused on client outcomes
  • Working knowledge of current industry standards聽
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years聽 project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
