Position Summary: Position Summary: The Director of Perinatal Services provides strategic, clinical, and 24/7 operational leadership for the perinatal service line, including Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).聽 This role ensures the delivery of high quality, family-centered, evidence-based care across the continuum of perinatal services while promoting patient safety, regulatory compliance, staff engagement and fiscal stewardship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Provide oversight and direction for Labor & Delivery, Mother-Nany and Level III NICU units
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient and family-centered care that is aligned with professional standards and organizational goals
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary departments

Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting bodies as well as local, state and federal government
  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives, perinatal safety programs and outcome measures, including maternal, neonatal and patient experience metrics
  • Lead perinatal performance improvement activities including perinatal morbidity and mortality reviews and root cause analyses
  • Develop policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family care needs are assessed, met and evaluated

Strategic Planning & Program Development

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for perinatal services aligned with organizational priorities
  • Identifies opportunities for service growth, innovation, and program development within perinatal and neonatal care
  • Analyze data and trends to drive decision-making and improve outcomes

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develop, manage and monitor operating and capital budgets for perinatal services
  • Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of care
  • Participate in developing staffing models, productivity management and cost containment initiatives

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Serve as a role model for professional behavior, demonstrating leadership ability by fostering commitment and inspiring trust with staff, physicians and professional colleagues within the organization
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a highly skilled, engaged nursing and leadership team
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and performance management for managers and frontline leaders
  • Foster professional development, shared governance and staff engagement initiatives
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration and professional excellence through fostering positive employee attitudes, effective communication, collaboration and creativity

Patient & Family Experience

  • Champion patient and family centered care practices across all perinatal units
  • Leverages feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer and patient satisfaction.聽 Develop and implement strategies to elevate patient experience
  • Support education and resources for families throughout the perinatal journey

Required Qualifications:聽

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
  • Master鈥檚 degree in nursing or health administration required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience required
  • National Nursing Certification in Specialty or Nursing leadership preferred
