The BNI Neurosurgery Department consists of 11 Operating Room suites with advanced technology, which supports and allows the Barrow Neurological Institute Neurosurgeons to perform the most complex spine and brain surgeries in the world. We provide 24-hour neurosurgical interventions (procedures) for patients of all ages including elective and urgent/emergent surgeries. We serve the Southwestern United States and primarily the Phoenix metropolitan area. Our goals are to continually improve the delivery and effectiveness of departmental services, continually improve the health and satisfaction of the community served, support and participate in multi-disciplinary performance efforts throughout the organization, create an environment which fosters learning among staff, patients and family members, and create a culture of safety, the prevention of medical errors and the re-design of vulnerable patient systems based on evidence or expert recommendations. The unit is staffed with licensed and unlicensed staff.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
  • Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons you’ll be supporting 
  • Adapt to the needs of emergency situations
  • Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient

Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of surgical technologist clinical experience

  • American Heart Association BLS
