Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

Seeking a self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership, management and clinical skills, as well as a strong commitment to the care of children across the pediatric age span to lead our unique Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Imaging and Sedation Unit. Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary, with the ability to inspire individuals and the desire to strive for organizational excellence. Must be both flexible and creative in collaborating with other units across the Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include overseeing nursing care delivery to predominantly pediatric patients (both inpatient and outpatient) receiving care across imaging, interventional radiology, anesthesia and sedation services, as well as a small percentage of adult patients requiring specialized imaging exams or imaging-based treatments. Ensuring nursing staff accountability, promoting nursing staff involvement in decision making, and demonstrating a level of approachability that fosters a collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary team are essential. This candidate must possess excellent communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills, with 5 years relevant clinical -nursing experience including pediatric nursing expertise, BSN and MS in Nursing required. Previous leadership experience is preferred. Requires active NYS license.
