The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

FT position available with on-call responsibilities

Dynamic individual to manage UR Medicine Imaging Sciences Nursing, including responsibility for nursing care delivery in multiple locations for Interventional Radiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Ambulatory Orthopedic Center with manager cross coverage at outpatient locations to cover vacation periods. Must possess the necessary skills to work in a fast-paced, technologically demanding environment, including the delivery of direct patient care in multiple imaging modalities. Must live within 30 minutes of SMH.  Key performance measures include advocacy for staff and patients, maintaining nursing staff accountability, promoting nursing staff involvement in decision making, and demonstrating a level of approachability that fosters a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include leading the nursing staff in developing and maintaining clinical expertise, patient and family-centered care, and collaborative practice within the multidisciplinary team.  This individual is responsible for 24/7 management supported by the unit’s leadership team.  The candidate must be flexible, possess excellent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, with 5 years of nursing experience and an MS in Nursing or equivalent. Requires active NYS license.
