Job DetailsJob Location: St Louis, MO 63114Summary: The Data Architect, with strong Business Analyst expertise, brings deep knowledge of industry’s best practices, particularly within the CPG industry—and possesses in-depth understanding of Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report business processes. The role combines analytical and architectural responsibilities by obtaining, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, and translating them into scalable data architecture solutions. Evaluates Microsoft technology trends to optimize ERP data architecture and leads the design, implementation, and support of related data platforms. The candidate partners with enterprise business stakeholders and IT leadership to understand objectives, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into effective technical solutions. This role also ensures efficient use of resources while establishing data standards and governance to maintain data quality, performance, and alignment with strategic business goals.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide architectural and functional leadership for ERP data architecture supporting core business processes (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report) Serve as a business-facing data subject matter expert, analyzing and defining data requirements across multiple initiatives, including ERP modernization and data harmonization efforts Partner with business process owners to analyze data usage, identify data gaps, and remediate process inefficiencies Define and govern enterprise ERP data models, master data, reference data, metadata, and data standards Drive data governance and stewardship practices to improve ERP data quality, consistency, and usability Supporting automation of ERP reporting and reconciliation processes to reduce manual effort and operational risk Streamline end-to-end business processes by improving data structures and information flow Ensure data solutions meet security, compliance, governance, and audit requirements Act as a liaison between functional leaders (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales) and IT to elicit, document, and prioritize ERP data and reporting requirements Enable operational, financial, and management reporting by ensuring ERP data readiness for analytics and close processes Optimize data performance, availability, and usability for business users Define data validation, reconciliation, and quality control standards Establish and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures Evaluate ERP platform capabilities and emerging ERP features, developing business cases aligned to business value Lead the design and adoption of data architecture standards across enterprise functions   Supervisory Responsibilities: Data Engineers QualificationsEducation Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.    Experience Requirements: 8+ years of experience supporting large, complex database environments and enterprise ERP data platforms. Strong background in business analysis and solution design, with hands-on experience translating business requirements into data architecture, defining data models, supporting testing, and providing ongoing data support across multiple functional areas. Proven experience working with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP, Infor LXI, or similar platforms.   Competencies: Must communicate effectively with team members, management, and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-relevant insights Engage professionally with external vendors and consultants to align ERP and data initiatives with business objectives Possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft platform data technologies and ERP data environments Demonstrate strong understanding of business processes, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report, with ERP data analysis expertise (SAP, Infor LXI, or similar) Effectively convey strategic direction and data-driven insights across all organizational levels Collaborate with management to define team objectives, identify improvement opportunities, and enhance cross-functional workflows Familiarity with Microsoft analytics tools (Power BI, etc.) to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives Solve complex data and business process problems with analytical rigor and structured problem-solving approaches Apply strong analytical skills and industry best practices, including business performance and profitability analysis, to support decision-making   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, or equivalent preferred.   Travel: Limited   Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.
