The Boeing Company is currently seeking aĀ Simulation Framework Software ManagerĀ to support our Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools (SFST)Ā Deployment team locatedĀ inĀ Berkeley, Missouri.Ā This position will focus on supporting the Software Fabric / Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization  

This is a software management role on theĀ SFSTĀ Deployment team thatĀ deliversĀ simulation software across the Boeing enterprise.Ā OurĀ suite of tools supportsĀ software verification, hardware verification,Ā aircrewĀ trainers, and warfare scenario simulation. Our group works allĀ facetsĀ of software engineeringĀ includingĀ estimating,Ā planning,Ā requirements, design,Ā development,Ā testing,Ā and integrationĀ of products in their relevant environments.Ā

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities related to simulation framework deploymentsĀ 

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies andĀ proceduresĀ and set operational goals that help the Boeing Company meet its commitmentsĀ 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers,Ā partnersĀ and direct reports  

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches,Ā productsĀ and processes.Ā IdentifyĀ opportunities for improvementĀ Ā 

  • Support, develop, and motivate employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):   

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader,Ā tempĀ manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course ā€œExploring Leadershipā€Ā BachelorsĀ DegreeĀ 

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US GovernmentĀ requiresĀ US CitizenshipĀ 

  • 3+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activitiesĀ Ā 

  • 5+ years of experience with the software development life cycleĀ Ā Ā 

  • 2+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry   

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualificationsĀ directly relatedĀ to the work statementĀ 

  • Active security clearanceĀ 

  • Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members  

  • Experience with team building,Ā developingĀ and motivating employees  

  • Strong communication,Ā presentationĀ and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, management/business skills  

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to change  

  • Strong background in simulation software engineeringĀ 

  • Strong background in software testingĀ 

  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software  

  • Knowledgeable of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines
