Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for procedures related to cleaning, sterilizing, and assemble of equipment, supplies and instruments for use in medical and surgical interventions

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • One year experience in central sterilization or hospital related field that would provide a background in medical terminology, sterile technique, or applied medical supplies and equipment preferred
  • Possess good communication skills and contribute to completing the required work of the team
  • Possess good decision-making skills, organizational skills, and able to adapt to change and flexibility
  • Detail oriented

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per pay period
  • 2-9 hour variable day/evening shifts primarily on Mondays & Tuesdays
  • Ideal candidate would have availability in addition to work in times of planned PTO coverage and last minute needs including additional on-call nights and weekends
  • 1 weekend call per 6 weeks when fully staffed
  • On-call holiday rotation 1-2 per year
  • The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
