The Opportunity

The Head of Planning and Execution - Operations Technology is responsible for driving improvements in how Operations Technology plans, builds, and delivers initiatives within our team and across ETX. This role focuses on streamlining processes, strengthening alignment, and enhancing operational efficiency to ensure consistency and maximize impact. 

This leader will oversee nonproduct cross-team initiatives, operating model enhancements, planning, and coordination across operations technology and ETX. The role also emphasizes enhancing operational discipline and promoting consistent, engineering practices and production support capabilities across Operations Technology.  Key outcomes include streamlined delivery, and consistent adoption of agile DevSecOps engineering practices.

The Head of Planning and Execution will partner with stakeholders across Operations technology, Enterprise Architecture, Data and Infrastructure management delivery teams. This role will advance cross-team cross-department transformation initiatives, strengthen system interoperability, and elevate operational efficiency while reducing technical debt.

The Impact

  • Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives by establishing workplans, defining KPIs, and monitoring execution and results.
  • Own non-product initiative’s implementation, performance monitoring, and planning across operations domains - Set clear priorities and foster transparency and consistency in operational practices.
  • Establish and implement consistent engineering practices, global operating model and continuous improvement programs across operations technology to achieve engineering excellence
  • Advance cross-team, cross-department transformation projects to enhance interoperability, boost operational efficiency, and reduce technical debt.
  • Partner and connect with larger IWT team, Enterprise Architecture, Data Management, Infrastructure, Security, and ETX Governance to inf organizational alignment and drive action.
  • Influence operations technology continuous improvement strategy with peer leaders to optimize outcomes and financial performance.
  • Deliver executive-level materials, including business cases, ELT presentations, and strategic planning documents.
  • Develop standards and tools to scale, enhance reliability, and ensure sustainability of platforms.
  • Oversee and lead implementation of integration frameworks and shared automation capabilities across technology platforms.
  • Achieve improved delivery timelines, reduced technical debt, and increased stakeholder satisfaction through effective leadership.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in platform design, engineering, delivery, and support to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop and execute technology integration roadmaps aligned with efficiency and modernization objectives.
  • Create and maintain operations technology roadmap. Monitor KPIs, KRIs, and success metrics to evaluate platform and automation performance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, remove barriers, and ensure timely execution of strategic investments.
  • Champion documentation and knowledge retention practices to preserve organizational expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 12 years of experience in IT planning, execution, or functional leadership roles.
  • Over 10 years’ experience developing and delivering roadmaps for a technology portfolio of $20M+
  • Must be authorized to work in US without visa sponsorship now and in the future

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large cross-team/cross-department initiatives, platform integrations and automation aligned with security and risk controls.
  • Extensive experience engaging with senior leaders, cultivating strong relationships, and effectively balancing diverse and occasionally competing priorities.
  • Proven track record of implementing and optimizing technology roadmaps, operating model enhancements, planning, and coordination 
  • Adept at promoting ideas and proposals persuasively, influencing stakeholder perspectives, projecting a positive image, resolving conflicts, and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Proficient in various delivery methodologies, Agile DevSecOps engineering practices 
  • Skilled in working with technology vendors and overseeing supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional time management and execution abilities.
  • Expertise in implementing Golbal operating model by collaborating effectively with global teams.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and scale new functions.
  • Proficiency with IT security risk and controls, Agile tools and cloud platform services.
  • Strong program management, executive communication and influence skills.
