What the SLP does: Provides diagnostic and therapeutic speech and language services to students with communication disorders. Serves as a consultant to teachers and other staff regarding the development and implementation of speech and language services. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT 1.1. Assists teachers in developing language curriculum and teaching strategies. 1.2. Monitors classroom language programs by direct participation, observation and/or conferences. 1.3. Serves as a resource for materials and methods. 1.4. Attends IEP meetings. 1.5. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members. DIRECT SERVICE 2.1. Provides speech/language evaluations. 2.2. Develops and implements an individualized therapeutic program (part of the IEP) for each student receiving speech/language services. 2.3. Provides individual/group/classroom speech/language therapy. 2.4. Provides services in a variety of on and off campus settings. 2.5. Provides consultative speech/language therapy. 2.6. Maintains files on each student seen for speech/language therapy. 2.7. Provides quarterly progress reports. OTHER 3.1. Performs other duties as assigned.
