Welder

Description

Production overlay welding and continual structural rebuilding of all tooling. Maintenance and repair welding on forge tooling, fixtures and equipment. Fabrication of devices. Operate carbon air arc/plasma cutting device for metal removal. Responsible for heat treating and heat-controlled furnace programs and settings.

Performs repair work on die blocks, rams, trimmer and punch dies, punches by welding broken parts together and building up worn or defective surfaces using various types of welding equipment.

•  Pre-heats or post heats parts in oven as necessary to obtain proper physical characteristics.
• ·Performs brazing or soldering as required.
•  Fabricates items such as chutes and guards and performs repair welding work 
•  Performs maintenance welding work in various departmental locations as required 
•  Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and diagrams as needed.
•  Production tool welding based on Standard Work Instruction, base material and weld material specifications.
•  Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). 
• Perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).

Requirements

· TIG/MIG/STICK Welding

· Plasma Cutter

· Various Hand Tools

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Vocational Certification/Training in Field
