Job Description Summary
Organization's Summary Statement:Resumes are currently being accepted for adjunct faculty (part-time) positions in the Department of Rehabilitation. Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester.
Responsibilities:
•Teach undergraduate courses (REHA and RPSY 200- 400 level courses) and the
Masters level courses (RECN 500 to 700 level courses).
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Rehabilitation or a closely related field.
•Minimum of four years’ experience in rehabilitation counseling, mental health
counseling, or related areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to function autonomously, communicate effectively, cooperate and
interact pleasantly with all contacts.
•Ability to present a positive, professional image of the Rehabilitation
Department, School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, and the University of
Maryland Eastern Shore.
•Excellent communication skills to include fluency in English.
•Familiarity with computers, proficiency in basic office programs such as Word
and Excel, or the ability to learn quickly is necessary.
Physical Demands:
•May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk.
•May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
•Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally.
•Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.
Preferences:
•Master's Degree or Doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology,
Counseling or a closely related field.
•To teach at the master's level a CRC or licensure is preferred.
Licenses/ Certifications: (Preferred)-Licensure in Rehabilitation, LGPC/LCPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor), LGADC/LCADC, (Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor), LGMFT/MFT, (Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapy/Marriage and Family Therapy). Licensure in other closely related disciplines will be considered.
Minimum Qualifications
The title Lecturer will ordinarily be used to designate appointments of persons who are serving in a teaching capacity for a limited time or part-time. The normal requirement is a Master's degree in the field of instruction or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the field of instruction. Appointments to this rank are typically one to three years and are renewable.
