Position Summary:Â
The Network Administrator supports enterprise network operations with a focus on firewall and branch infrastructure staging, troubleshooting, and deployment support. This role prepares network equipment, assists with modernization initiatives, and diagnoses network issues across company locations. Occasional travel may be required to support site upgrades or integrations.Â
The position is intended for a developing network professional building a long-term career in networking. The role emphasizes practical troubleshooting, strong documentation discipline, and the ability to execute standardized deployments in a production environment.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure issues and provide technical diagnosisÂ
- Stage and prepare firewalls, switches, and wireless equipment for standardized deploymentsÂ
- Assist with branch network rollouts and modernization projectsÂ
- Support Cisco IOS-XE switching and Cisco Meraki switching/wireless environmentsÂ
- Support FortiGate firewall and Fortinet infrastructure platformsÂ
- Validate equipment readiness before shipment to sitesÂ
- Assist with new site builds and integration activitiesÂ
- Support SD-WAN branch environmentsÂ
- Escalate complex issues when appropriateÂ
- Document configurations, site conditions, and troubleshooting findingsÂ
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and deployment recordsÂ
- Collaborate with Helpdesk teams during network incidentsÂ
- Assist with maintenance windows and after-hours work when requiredÂ
- Travel occasionally to support onsite installations or remediationÂ
Required Qualifications:Â
- 3-5 years of networking experienceÂ
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewallsÂ
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS-XE switching environmentsÂ
- Experience with Cisco Meraki switching and wireless platformsÂ
- Exposure to FortiManager and FortiClient EMSÂ
- Understanding of SD-WN technology conceptsÂ
- Working knowledge of QOS fundamentalsÂ
- Ability to troubleshoot independently in production environmentsÂ
- Strong documentation and organizational skillsÂ
- Clear communication and escalation disciplineÂ
- Demonstrated commitment to a career in NetworkingÂ
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Experience with FortiSwitch platformsÂ
- Familiarity with OpManagerÂ
- Cisco or Fortinet certificationsÂ
- Experience participating in infrastructure upgrades or site deploymentsÂ
- Exposure to templated or standardized network rolloutsÂ
