Job DetailsJob Location: York, PA 17403Responsible for providing meals for campers at Camp Pennwood. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare and Serve hot/cold lunch every day Prepare and Provide an alternate sandwich every day Create a take home menu for each camper for the entirety of camp Order/purchase food necessary for the duration of camp (including in between necessities, milk, etc.) within the budget provided from approved retailers Prepare and serve an afternoon snack Provide a portable beverage to be taken with groups to the pool 2x/week. Wash/sanitize dishes and maintain a clean kitchen Abide by ALL dietary concerns/restrictions for all campers (allergies, etc.) Other duties as assigned by supervisor. QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of appropriate interaction with youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Safety precautions with youth who are vulnerable to danger. Knowledge of cooking for large groups and kitchen safety Has the ability to communicate with the Camp Director and counselors to meet the dietary needs of the campers Interact with the campers appropriately Prioritize assigned tasks Has the ability to work together with other staff as a team member. Problem-solving and critical thinking Mastery of English language Basic math Basic principles of social work Very good oral and written communication skills Time management Maintain confidentiality Physical Requirements: Skills/Requirements to perform tasks may include but not limited to: Must be able to lift and/or move at least 25 lbs to 50 lbs The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, extend, lift, and carry weights. Frequently use hands to finger, handle, and reach with arms and hands below or at the waist level and above shoulder height. Be able to pull, push, lift, or carry. Be able to stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl. Constantly be able to talk or communication, hear, taste, or smell. Specific vision abilities may include close vision; color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Be exposed to all outside weather conditions (including but not limited to sun, rain, heat, cold, snow, etc.), dust, and fumes while working. Moderate noise level Education/Experience: At minimum a high school diploma/GED, prefer at least two-year degree (or 60+ credits) in a related field (i.e., social work, education, business administration) Minimum of 12 months of related work experience, preferably with some supervisory responsibility. Must have experience working or volunteering with a. Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities b. Individuals between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age.
