Hey there, Julie hereš Got an upcoming interview but wondering what to wear? Well, first impressions do count so youāll want to make sure youāre looking your best.
If youāre not sure what the dress code is, always opt for corporate and professional. Itās much better to be overdressed than under-dressed!
Generally, a blue or grey tailored suit is a safe option for men. But if you feel like standing out, thereās nothing stopping you from adding a pop of colour!
šDonāt drown yourself in aftershave. Thereās nothing wrong with a light spritz, but wearing too much can be really off putting, especially if the interviewer doesnāt like the scent!
šMake sure your shoes are immaculate with a good polish and remove any scuffs.
šOpt for a long-sleeved shirt.
šUse a neat and combed hairstyle.
šAvoid jeans. They may be okay if youāre told the dress code is casual. But to be on the safe side, choose tailored trousers.
šTrim your nails.
šCarry a portfolio or briefcase
Women tend to have a wider variety of interview attire. You could opt for a trouser suit, skirt and shirt, or even a smart dress.
šMake sure your skirt and dress arenāt any shorter than just above the knee.
šAvoid any low-cut tops.
šDonāt wear too much perfume.
šKeep your makeup light and natural.
šAvoid chipped or brightly coloured nail polish.
šNo peep-toe shoes.
šAvoid big, statement earrings and lots of bracelets.
