Job Description

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Perform general design duties such as:
    • Provide innovative & unique solutions to technical challenges
    • Complete feasibility studies on conceptual solutions
    • Create detailed manufacture/assembly drawings
    • Control Product Data Maintenance (PDM) information
    • Prepare design packages for design reviews
    • Prepare test procedures, reports & assist workshop personnel as required
    • Support all regions with technical expertise
    • Provide support to Supply Chain / Quotation teams regarding technical matters
    • Liaise with clients for specific project requirements
    • Mentor, coach, and train Design Engineers and Draughtspersons as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor
    • Cover for the Engineering Supervisor when required

INDIVIDUAL QHSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate commitment to the quality of service, including quality of records produced, aiming to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the protection of Health, Safety, and the Environment
  • Follow company QHSE Policy, relevant operational procedures, HSE procedures, and risk assessments
  • Communicate and report any perceived non-conformances or faults in the service provided or in the company's Quality or HSE Management Systems

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Essential: A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a technical subject
  • Preferred: A master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of design calculations

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Essential:

    • Extensive experience in the design, testing, and installation of downhole completion products, with time spent in an engineering design office environment
    • Ability to effectively utilize resources, plan, control, and take responsibility for own work
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised, exercising initiative to resolve potential problems
    • Understanding of general engineering principles and the ability to analyze data to detect and resolve performance issues
  • Preferred:

    • Experience in the design of downhole valve systems
    • Experience in working with operator-driven R&D environments
    • Knowledge of FEA/CFD analysis
    • Experience in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
    • Experience with MathCad or similar calculation packages
