Salary £23,400 - £29,000 depending on experience, plus excellent company benefits

Calor Gas is currently seeking a dynamic and proactive Transport Administrator for our Aberdeen site. This role primarily involves overseeing daily operations, with responsibilities both in the office and in the yard. Use of the FLT will be required.

The main focus of the role is to ensure a safe and efficient fulfilment process, particularly concerning secondary cylinder distribution movements. This includes optimizing driver and vehicle utilization to enhance overall effectiveness.

The successful candidate will actively participate in maintaining site safety standards and contribute to transport planning by effectively managing customer master data.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that the yard is maintained in a safe, secure, and orderly manner.
  • Supporting site management in achieving compliance obligations including inventory management, financial compliance, health and safety regulations, and transport regulations.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Verifying that all loads are accurately counted and reconciled.
  • Keep regular records of stock checks.
  • Report driver feedback and update master data accordingly.
  • Instill a mindset within the team that prioritizes the importance of service.
  • Foster a positive safety culture within the team and enhance accountability for safety.

Therefore, we are looking for candidates who possess or demonstrate the following:

  • Possessing a current Forklift Truck (FLT) license
  • Capable of performing tasks that involve a significant amount of manual handling.
  • Possess experience working within the transport industry, demonstrating familiarity with industry practices, regulations, and operational requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of driving hour rules and regulations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and promoting safe driving practices.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach and a commitment to leading by example, fostering team spirit, and promoting development within the team.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly with MS Office applications
  • Organized and articulate with strong written communication skills.
  • Possess a strong commitment to safety and prioritize safety in all aspects of work.
