Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Finance Assistant to work for an organisation in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. This role is being offered on a Temporary basis for 6 Months.

Role: Temporary Finance Assistant

Salary: £27,300 or £15:00 Per Hour

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Hours: 35 Hours per week (Hybrid-at least 3 days in the office)

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

  • Reconcile the two main bank accounts daily and other bank accounts on a weekly basis.
  • Reconcile cash income on a weekly basis.
  • Run the purchase ledger with fortnightly payment runs.
  • Raise sales invoices in line with contracts.
  • Create the monthly direct debit collections.
  • Monthly credit card reconciliations
  • As part of month end procedures post accruals, prepayments, accrued income and deferred income journals.
  • Prepare debtors listings and send to appropriate departments for chasing.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Support the Finance Director in month end and year end tasks.

About you:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Quite
  • Basic Excel skills (sum, average, sort, filter etc.)
  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Experience of direct debits
  • Experience of VAT returns
  • Excellent attention to detail
