Reed Education are currently working with a fantastic Secondary School who are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join them in the new school year. This role can start immediately or in September 2024. The school boasts fantastic support for students with a range of needs, including specialist areas and support for students to be able to access the mainstream classroom teaching. Learning Support Assistants in the school often go on to progress in their teaching career with excellent support for the right person to progress into teacher training within the school. 

The Role

  • Support individual needs including SEMH and Speech and Language needs within the school. 
  • Meet regularly with SENCO, staff, agencies and parents to be able to support the progress of individual students
  • Contribute to the updating of and use of EHCPs for individual students
  • Run interventions within your subject area where required 

Requirements

  • Previous experience is desirable but not mandatory as training will be provided 
  • Positive attitude and a fair approach to support all students across the school 
  • Good behaviour management strategies and an ability to remain positive and follow the schools policies
  • Relevant qualifications are a plus but you MUST have GCSE c or higher/equivalent in Maths and English 
  • Right to work in the UK
  • The role will be subject to a clear DBS on the update service (Reed can support with this)
