Location: Derbyshire - 50% hybrid working after probation (optional)

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 + discretionary annual bonus

Term: Permanent, Full-time

Macildowie are delighted to be partnered with this leading logistics and supply chain organisation based in Derbyshire.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in account management - maintaining accounts, retaining accounts, negotiating, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. The role requires proficiency in (or an understanding of) contract management and the ability to navigate complex commercial conversations and agreements.

This position is available due to an internal promotion. Reporting to the Senior Account Manager, you will be part of a small, close-knit team of 8 Account Managers altogether. Within the team working styles tend to vary, so you will have the autonomy to organise yourself and choose a style that works best for you and your clients. Whilst this is a small immediate team, the organisation is large as a whole so effective internal stakeholder management is essential.

In your first 3 months in this role, you will be getting to know this complex company in detail, visiting different internal departments to gain a wider knowledge of the teams and shadowing your teammates on client meetings. The onboarding process is therefore set up to arm you with all of the necessary knowledge to give you the best chance of success, rather than being thrown straight in the deep end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of around 15 ongoing client accounts.
  • Oversee contractual agreements, including annual reviews and inflation-linked fee adjustments for example.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and client onboarding.
  • Utilise various internal systems and portals to access and report client data.
  • Engage in strategic discussions to identify opportunities for service improvement and growth.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrated experience in client account management with some understanding and/or experience in contract management and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to handle challenging conversations.
  • Familiarity with the transport/logistics/healthcare industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in using multiple systems and adaptable to dynamic work environments.
  • Proven experience of dealing with new client management software & Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information:

  • 25 days starting holiday entitlement, with the option to buy or sell days.
  • Discretionary objective-related bonus scheme.
  • Hybrid working model post-probation.

If you are a confident and dynamic individual with a passion for client relationship management and a keen eye for contractual details, we encourage you to apply.
