Position Overview:We are currently seeking an experienced Tyre Technician who can fit tyres for heavy earthmovers and/or light vehicle equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that our client's key business principles are adhered to and are actively implemented on site with and for the customer. Our client is open to considering commercial fitters as well, however you will need to have HGV experience to be considered. Daily duties will include

  • Perform tyre fitting, repair, and maintenance services on earthmoving equipment such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of tyres to identify wear and damage and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure proper inflation, alignment, and balancing of tyres to maximise equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot tyre-related issues, including punctures, leaks, and abnormal wear patterns.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when handling and servicing tyres, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of tyre maintenance activities, including service reports, inventory levels, and work orders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate work schedules, prioritize tasks, and optimize workflow.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of heavy earthmover tyre fitting/Light vehicle tyre fitting experience as a qualified fitter.
  • Basic experience repairing and re-grooving tyres preferred
  • Experience with correct and safe handling of light industrial equipment which includes using safe methods of work procedures and achieving safety performance measures
  • Ability to understand tyre failure causes and analysis.
  • Ability to understand LV Tyre maintenance options (applications, psi, rotations, matching, removal, rims, etc).
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to work under pressure for protracted periods.
  • Ability to learn new ways and ideas from learning materials, training and others.
  • Light vehicle driver's license
  • Heavy vehicle driver's license.
