Due to internal promotion K.A.G. Recruitment is on the search for a Maintenance Manager to fill an exciting position for our client in Driffield, one of the largest Private Label Petfood producers in Europe supplying quality pet products to major supermarket and retail chains.

Hours: 37.5 - Monday to Friday

Location: Driffield

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

What You’ll Do:

  • To deliver the Asset Care plan and provide a World Class engineering support to the Site, includes - Pre plan and prepare work orders and hardware for said work orders.
  • Drive RCA and REM with reliability engineers to improve site OEE and reduce overall breakdowns.
  • Create cost driven culture to design out repeat failures.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping standards to maintain a food safe working environment.
  • To manage external contractors issuing work permits where appropriate and ensure contractor control is fully enforced.
  • To stand in for Site Engineering Manager as and when required.
  • Develop and maintain “Pirahna” system, taking overall ownership of System Administration
  • Develop & review PPM schedules for individual streams and services.
  • Ensure Engineering Managers and Technicians have training and resource to operate planned maintenance system.
  • Maintain and develop COSHH register for engineering substances.
  • Manage BOAS compliance in alignment with regulations.
  • Manage L8 compliance in alignment with regulations.
  • Manage Fixed wire and Pat testing compliance in line with regulation.
  • Identify and manage a Critical Spares Lists for the site.
  • Complete all quality paperwork accurately and completely to ensure compliance to quality procedures, legislation and to maintain traceability through the plant.
  • Complete all tasks in accordance with relevant SOPs and Work Instructions as trained.

We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of Time served Engineering Apprenticeship with City and Guilds Electrical/ONC/B-TEC (Or equivalent).
  • Experience in a Multi-Skilled Engineering environment with a planning BIAS and knowledge of packaging lines – conveyor systems, palletisers, wrappers, ovens & refrigeration systems.
  • Good understanding of Mechanical Engineering - pumps, gearboxes, drives, compressors, bearings, seals, conveyors, palletisers, pneumatics, hydraulics & lubrication.
  • Good understanding of utilities/services – refrigeration, steam, water treatment & air.
  • Experience in H&S legislation best practice within Engineering,
  • Stores and finance/budget management
  • Electrical awareness – single/3 phase systems, HV distribution.
  • Able to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, organisation & communication skills with an keen eye for detail.
  • Strong man management abilities & contractor control.
  • Change management experience and ability to drive culture change.
