Job summary

This position is responsible for performing MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages while maintaining patient safety.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Leads and manages shift assignments and coverage for their modality
  • Leads educational and training programs for employees regarding equipment usage, new protocols, patient safety, and career development
  • Leads programs for performance improvement, efficiency and productivity, employee engagement and patient experience
  • Provides an advanced consultative technical resource and assists the manager in the supervision and technical development of the assigned radiology section
  • Assists the diagnostics supervisor with the maintenance of all required section records and the provision of any statistical data that might be required in support of management activities
  • Prepares and checks patient prior to MRI procedure
  • Instructs patient regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation
  • Performs MRI imaging procedures and adjusts the system and sequences to obtain the most effective identification and presentation of anatomic structures and abnormalities
  • Archives digital data and images for physicians and radiologists to review and dictate
  • Monitors equipment and system operations
  • Sets up and adjusts MRI equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoots problems related to image quality and reports unresolved problems or issues to technical staff
  • Ensures that exam rooms are clean and equipped with appropriate supplies and equipment required for each patient
  • Ensures that a safe environment is maintained during MRI exam
  • Takes responsibility for patient radiation safety by following established guidelines and protocol

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years post graduate experience in MRI in an acute care hospital (of which not less than two (2) years experience as a senior MRI Radiographer in an acute care hospital), is required. For UAE Nationals: minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in an acute care hospital is required
  • Minimum of six (6) years post graduate experience in MRI in an acute care hospital (of which not less than five (5) years experience as a senior MRI Radiographer in an acute care hospital), is required.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and radiologists to coordinate proper imaging of patients
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required
  • Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred

Education requirements

  • A. Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, or graduation from an accredited diploma program (minimum three (3) year curriculum), is required
  • B. Graduation from an accredited Radiography program (minimum two (2) years) and registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, UK HPC, or equivalent, is required.
  • Current national license is required
  • Graduation from an accredited MRI program is preferred
  • Master’s degree in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical master’s degree in a related field is preferred (will reduce one (1) year from the required years of experience)

Airfare: The airfare allowance policy provides sponsored caregivers with an annual airfare for the caregiver, where applicable, their spouse and up to 2 children to the age of 18 years. This allowance will be a fixed amount based on the Caregiver’s home country, age of dependent and paid monthly.

Dependant Education Assistance: Dependant education assistance will be provided for up to three children from the age of 3 – 18 years, up to AED 32,200 per child per annum for schooling in Abu Dhabi.

Relocation Ticket: Employee and eligible dependants (spouse and up to 3 children under the age 18), relocating to Abu Dhabi will be provided with economy air ticket from current location to Abu Dhabi.

One time Settling in Allowance: Employee will receive a one–time Settling-in Allowance of approximately 70% of one-month gross salary. The Settling-in Allowance will be paid with the first full month’s salary to defray the cost of furnishing accommodation and miscellaneous expenses incurred in relocating to the UAE.

Annual Leave: All caregivers will be eligible to 25 working days annual leave every calendar year.

Leave and Holidays

  • Sick Leave:15 calendar days at full pay, 30 calendar days at half pay
  • Public Holidays: The public holidays observed by CCAD will be in accordance with the announcement made by the Abu Dhabi Government (usually 10 days per annum).
  • Maternity Leave: 90 calendar days full pay for female married caregivers
  • Paternity Leave:5 days full pay for married caregivers

Health Insurance: Caregivers and eligible dependants (spouse and up to 3 children under the age 18) who reside in the UAE and have valid residency visas will be covered under the Cleveland Clinic Health insurance plan. Health Insurance covers dental and optical.

Life Insurance: Caregivers are provided life insurance at no cost.

Repatriation: At conclusion of assignment, flight paid for caregiver and eligible dependants, as per your organizational level, to return home. All Caregivers who have completed one (1) year or more of continuous service are entitled to repatriation benefits in relation to the shipment of their personal effects (including insurance) from Abu Dhabi to their country of citizenship. All shipment requirements will be handled by CCAD’s authorized shipping vendors.

End of Service Benefit: Caregivers will be eligible for an End of Service Benefit payable upon completion of one or more years of service at the time of leaving CCAD. This is calculated as one-month basic salary (approximately 50% of monthly gross salary) for each year of service.
