Our client is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. If you're analytical, Excel-savvy, and eager to grow your finance career, this is a fantastic opportunity, this role would suit a confident and curious individual who thrives on delivering high-quality financial insights.

Please note, this role is based in Andover but you will also be required to attend other offices in Dorset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with monthly management and annual statutory accounts
  • Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Providing financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
  • Conducting variance analysis and ad-hoc financial reports
  • Extracting and manipulating data from financial systems
  • Identifying and supporting process improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal deadlines
  • Preparing external returns and reports

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities
  • A proactive mindset and desire to challenge the status quo
  • Strong all-round IT capability with advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
  • Ability to extract and work with data from finance systems
  • Experience in financial or management accounting, budgeting, or financial reporting
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise effectively

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE and A-Level standard (including passes in Maths and English)
  • AAT Level 3 or above, or a relevant degree (preferred)
  • Currently studying or interested in studying for ACA, CIMA, or ACCA (desirable)
