- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, and external financial reporting
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insight to support planning and decision-making
- Preparing and delivering financial reports for budget holders and other non-finance stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Maintaining up-to-date technical accounting knowledge to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and journal processing, including accurate treatment of accruals and prepayments, in line with best practices
- Investigating and correcting financial system discrepancies through detailed interrogation and analysis
- Conducting variance analysis to monitor performance against budget and highlight key drivers.
- Ensuring all reporting and regulatory deadlines are consistently met
- Degree within finance and accounting or AAT level 3 or above
- Currently studying or the desire to study further professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA
- Experience within an accounting role, ideally handling management accounting duties or similar
- Exposure to working within a financial reporting team, budgeting and management accounting
- Good financial systems and additional IT skills including strong Excel knowledge
