The main duties and responsibilities of the Work Control Engineer would be to:

  • Demonstrate safe, effective and ethical working behaviours.
  • Adhere to management system requirements for engineering activities.
  • Deliver engineering tasks to schedule, budget and quality requirements.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
  • Identify and escalate business risk arising from condition of engineered systems and structures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to management system requirements and relevant technical standards.
  • Engage with company delivery and administrative requirements; report own and team progress honestly and clearly, communicate in an engaging manner, support performance management.
  • Optimise the delivery of Operations Engineering.
  • Interface with other government departments
  • Work with team leaders
  • Provision of specified services to internal and external customers, to agreed standards.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in own trade and apply to own workplace where appropriate.
  • Provision of timely reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Comparison and analysis of trends within the Project and identification of risk and opportunities
  • Review, acceptance and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by Contractors and suppliers.
  • Adherence to governance and Cost standards and procedures
  • Ensure all Project documents, Sensitive Nuclear Information, is correctly marked, and protected in accordance with policies and procedures.

Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable Planning experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in a Co-ordinating role
  • Experience working with multiple departments
  • The ability to be flexible in your work
  • Understanding of Maximo (Desirable)
  • Knowledge & experience of MS Project (Desirable)
