I am seeking a Commercial Sales Director to join a growing specialist food and drink supplier in Kent. This role is pivotal in applying commercial plans and contributing to the senior leadership team’s strategic decisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships and generating new income streams across the food service industries.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and support a team of Key Account Managers across the South East, ensuring they meet their sales targets and deliver exceptional service.
  • Develop and implement strategic commercial plans to drive business growth and increase market share.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential clients.
  • Sit on the board of the senior leadership team, contributing to the overall direction and strategy of the company.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions and identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure the sales team is aligned with the company’s goals and objectives, providing training and development as needed.
  • Monitor sales performance, setting KPIs and providing regular reports to the senior leadership team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Sales Director role, within the food and drink service industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful commercial strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a senior leadership team.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and financial data.
