SEMH TA (Teaching Assistant) Primary

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged students in Ashington, Northumberland. This role focuses on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Job Summary:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that promote student well-being.
- Assist in creating a supportive and understanding classroom environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement behavioral plans under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
