Overview of the Role:

We are working with a food productioncompany is in search of a Maintenance Team Leader. This role is integral to the management of the plant engineering department, ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of production machinery, including but not limited to conveyors, pumps, and mechatronic devices. The incumbent will play a crucial role in leading maintenance efforts, optimising processes, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and oversight of an engineering team, promoting a culture of teamwork and high performance.
  • Performance managmenet and skillset development of engineers, utlilsing mentorship and external training opportunities.
  • Management of mechanical and electrical systems' maintenance routines, focusing on conveyors, pumps, and mechatronics.
  • Development and execution of maintenance strategies to enhance machinery uptime and dependability.
  • Direction and oversight of projects aimed at the improvement of machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Assurance of compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or higher qualifiactionin Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic) is preferred. Consideration will also be given to candidates with significant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within the food production industry or a related field (FMCG, Engineering etc).
  • Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, and mechatronic systems, with an advantage given to candidates having experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) systems.
  • Mandatory IT proficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring and managing a team.
  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Own transport arrangments are essential due to the semi-rural location
