Automation Specialist Engineer / Controls Engineer

About the Role:

Our client is a major global logistics and supply chain company. Due to business acceleration, they are hiring for two Automation Engineers.

In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our plant floor equipment. You will troubleshoot breakdowns, provide technical expertise to maintenance teams, and implement preventative measures to keep our facilities running like clockwork.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) issues using specialized software (S7 platforms like Tia Portal, Proneta, Primary Setup Tool, Simatic Manager).
• Assist maintenance mechanics in repair procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
• Lead a small team of engineers (preferred).
• Act as the primary point of contact for the BaSE department during sorting operations.
• Respond promptly to internal customer requests and facility alarms/emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in troubleshooting automation systems.
• Proficiency in S7 software applications (Tia Portal, Proneta, Primary Setup Tool, Simatic Manager) a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with PLC programming, basic networking, motor control theory, and AC/DC electrical troubleshooting (preferred).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
