We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher for a school in Aylesbury. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs.

The school based in Aylesbury are rated “good” and boast an impressive cohort of staff who work together in symphony. Students that attend this school are passionate about education and have a desire to learn and continue to develop their subject knowledge.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, ensuring that educational objectives are both attainable and measurable
  • Design and deliver lessons utilizing diverse instructional strategies to accommodate the various learning styles and abilities present in the classroom
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to cultivate a cooperative and supportive educational environment
  • Continuously assess and track student progress, modifying instructional approaches as necessary to meet individual needs
  • Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters understanding, acceptance, and positive social interactions among students with and without special needs
  • Apply effective behaviour management strategies to establish a positive and respectful classroom setting, offering support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Teaching certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and developmental disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
