Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Support and coach managers to strengthen their HR knowledge and effectively resolve employee issues.
  • Lead on absence and welfare case management, including occupational health referrals and ongoing support.
  • Promote employee wellbeing initiatives and manage the relationship with external occupational health providers.
  • Advise on performance management, learning and development needs, and role development; contribute to wider engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support cohesive communication and aligned HR practices.
  • Liaise with payroll and finance to address pay queries, support salary benchmarking, and oversee contract and benefits administration.
  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures; support training delivery and ensure ongoing legislative compliance.
  • Support the development of recruitment and retention strategies; ensure processes are robust, effective, and audit-ready.
  • Produce regular HR reports, analyse workforce data, and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, health and safety standards, and data protection regulations.
  • Provide effective HR service delivery that aligns with budget targets and performance indicators.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, representing the HR function with professionalism.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a regulated or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and influence at all levels.
  • Confident managing complex casework and interpreting HR data.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification is highly desirable.
