We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our client in Ayrshire on a 6 month contract from an Aerospace, Engineering or Manufacturing background. Prior experience in quality, engineering, machine shop, assembly or functional testing related experience would be preferred

You will report directly to the Quality leader and will be responsible for providing a moderate level of customer and organisational support for quality & regulatory requirements, compliance, and system and process improvements. This position coordinates root cause and corrective action across multiple functions.

You have have many responsibilities, some will include:

* Performs quality related activities associated with the nonconforming material control process

* Is actively involved in problem solving activities, and ensuring the robustness of root cause and corrective action analysis (RCCA) when necessary

* Proactively Identifies and drives resolution to systemic issues within the organisation

* Assembles and monitors appropriate company/customer metrics and proposes improvements for the performance of Quality. May analyse the metrics and provide recommendations based on the results

* Acts as the customer liaison/advocate for Woodward compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction relative to quality of products and services

Our client is looking for you to do the following:

*Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to drive Root Cause Corrective Action concepts/processes, including the 8D process to eliminate cause(s) in internal processes, or external processes when necessary

* Demonstrates effective organisational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (including presentations). Able to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities in a fast paced work environment

* Ability to complete company goals/tasks in a timely manner, and at times, work under aggressive schedules

* Demonstrates an understanding of interpretation of engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or electrical schematics, and Geometric Dimension and Tolerance

* Demonstrates ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams, as a team member or lead, and work with various levels within the organisation and with customers

* Is familiar with regulatory and compliance requirements. (Site specific examples- FAA, EASA, JCAB, CAAC, etc.)

* Demonstrates a basic knowledge of Six Sigma principles, tools and methodology, and advocates utilisation throughout the organisation

* Demonstrates knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and TS16949 (site specific) requirements and their intent to ensure compliance of the Quality Management System
