My client are currently recruiting for skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team at their site in Bala. You will be responsible for fabricating high-quality stainless steel and other alloy components used in scientific vacuum systems and research applications.

Terms & Benefits:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum (depending on skills and level of responsibility)

  • Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 6:15am - 4:30pm (No working on Fridays)

  • Contract: Permanent, full-time

  • Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays

  • Other Benefits: Company pension scheme, death in service cover, free car parki

Key objectives:

  • Carry out TIG welding of stainless steel and other materials to a consistently high standard

  • Work from engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and work instructions

  • Ensure dimensional accuracy and weld integrity, conducting visual inspections and finishing work to customer specifications

  • Support wider fabrication activities including cutting, forming, fitting, and light assembly as required

  • Proactively identify and resolve fabrication or fitting issues during build

  • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the required standard

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace at all times

  • Take ownership of jobs from start to finish and support continuous improvement activities within the workshop

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel (ideally in thin-wall and precision applications)

  • Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings

  • Strong fabrication and fitting skills - with a commitment to high-quality workmanship

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, agile team

  • Good problem-solving mindset with a practical, hands-on approach

  • Experience with vacuum equipment or scientific instrumentation (desirable but not essential)

  • Interest in engineering, science, and technical manufacturing
