Inside Construction have been appointed to recruit a Project Controls Data Analyst for a management/main contractor who partners with companies across the globe to provide sustainable projects. They work with clients in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, nuclear, power and aviation industries across the UK and offer a management service for new build, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.

The role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Controls Data Analyst to support project controls activities within a portfolio of small-scale EPCM pharma projects based at on site in Barnard Castle.

The Project Controls Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting project data on project performance, cost tracking, scheduling, and risk management to create monthly portfolio and specific project reports.

This role requires strong coordination and expediting skills required to pull data, analysis, and information together from then to create the monthly reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Management - Expedite, collect, and compile project data from various sources, including project management software, financial systems, and project documentation in order to assemble monthly project reports.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation - Alongside the planning and Cost managers, analyse project data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to project performance, cost tracking, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Project Reporting - Generate regular project performance reports, dashboards, and metrics to communicate project status, progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  • Cost Tracking and Analysis - In close collaboration with the Cost Manager(s) track project costs, expenditures, commitments, and forecasts to ensure alignment with project budgets and financial objectives.
  • Risk Management Support - Support project risk management activities by analysing and assessing project risks, including schedule risks, cost risks, and scope risks.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience in project controls on EPCM projects, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
